Welcome to Mar Vista School’s green website. We’ve just started a green committee and this is the place to find out what’s happening at the school…
Who are we?
- Parents and teachers of Mar Vista School children who are concerned about the environment and want to help ‘green’ the school.
What do we do?
- Implement programs we believe will help the school be greener. For example – the zero waste lunch program.
What do we mean by ‘greener’?
- We want to help the school reduce it’s waste and consume less energy.
- We also want to help the school become literally greener by expanding the planting program.
- We’d like to help children become more aware of the environment and empower them to make green changes in their own homes.
How will we do this?
- Working closely with the staff, students and school principal we hope to support and expand what the school is already doing through programs like the zero-waste lunches.
- We will also run this blog that will keep the parents and students well-informed and act as a meeting ground for the exchange of ideas and information. Please feel free to comment as often as you like!
Meetings
This school year we will be meeting once a month – the first Thursday of every month. In an effort to be paper-free we will collect emails and send out meeting reminders that way.
You can also reach me (Cerentha Harris) and Annie Barnes via email – I’m cerenthaATmacDOTcom and Annie is acmagsATmacDOTcom.
We look forward to hearing from you.
